Our Story
The Senior Diamonds are an amateur senior men’s baseball program located in Chatham, Ontario. The program was started in 1983 by 4 former alumni Dennis O’Neil, Dale Richie, and the late Al Alward and Jerome Roy. The program ran until 2003 when operations were suspended. The program was resurrected in 2023 by former alumni Bill Flavell, Steve Kenney and Rick and Lee Kucera.
During the initial 20 year run the program played in a couple of leagues, the Cam Am AAA Men’s league in Windsor, Ontario, Southwestern Ontario Baseball League, Western Counties Baseball Association and Sun Parlor Baseball League. Our most successful season occurred in 1997, that year the club won the Ontario AAA Men’s Senior Elimination Tournament and went on to represent Ontario in the Senior AAA Men’s National Championship Tournament in Newfoundland losing in the final to Red Deer, Alberta.
